TaPs Riding Club

TaPs riding club is open to boys and girls age 8-16. The club is limited to 18 students per club. The 2 hour class is divided into 3 parts: classroom, round pen, and riding arena. The kids learn the basics of safety and riding in the arena. They learn how to handle a horse in the round pen with lunging, saddling, leading, etc. And in the classroom they learn about horses: colors, breeds, first aid, parts of the horse, etc. The riders are also encouraged to enter area shows and compete against riders from the area (shows to be announced).

Sessions are March, April and May then again in the fall, September, October and November. Each session is followed by a show where the riders show their family and friends some of the skills they have learned. Class is held on Monday 10-12noon (home schoolers); Tuesday 4-6pm and Thursday 4-6pm. Cost is $150 for the 3 month session, payable in advance. Parents and children are also required to do volunteer service at TaPs for 4 hrs a month. This can be done by feeding after/before club, coming during the week, or by coming to a workday.
