TaPs exists because of the generous contributions of the community. This can be through direct contributions, fund raisers or specific gifts. Remember, all gifts are tax deductible.
CURRENT WISH LIST:
Hay and feed donations. Several area feed stores will let you buy an extra bag of feed and hold it for TaPs. This includes Northeast Texas Coop in Greenville, Circle C in Rockwall, and Poole feed in Wylie. You pay for the food and we can even pick it up. The price of feed and hay has increased at least 30% since the fall and the drought is only making things worse. One bag of feed will feed a horse for almost a week.
Used kids’ riding boots. Many of our kids can’t afford their own boots so we have loaner boots (like renting bowling shoes, only free). We especially need sizes 4, 5 ,6 &7. Check for boots when you’re in thrift stores or ask friends when their kids outgrow their boots.
We really need another (OK, several) run in sheds. Building these makes a great Eagle Scout project. We have horses standing in the rain today. We can use building materials and/or labor. Or just $950 to buy a carport that will be installed by the manufacturer.
Mulch or concrete by the fences where the horses eat to reduce the amount of mud.
Fill dirt for the pond. Once the pond is filled in, we’ll have more room for a paddock (the pond leaks, so it doesn’t supply water).
Pay specific vet bills. We take our horses to Rockwall Equine Center, Rockwall County Veterinary Clinic, and Risinger Veterinary Hospital. Where we go depends on many factors. We usually post high vet visits on Facebook to ask for help.
